Benefits of replacing missing teeth:

  • Decreases the stress on the remaining teeth
  • Improves appearance
  • Improves speech

Dental Implants: Dental implants are placed to replace missing teeth. Implants are metal posts or frames that are surgically placed beneath the gum tissue. After placement, the implants fuse to the bone of your jaw act as an artificial tooth root. Replacement teeth are then mounted on the implants.

Removable Partial Dentures: Partial dentures are one option for those patients missing some of their teeth. They are removable and are usually held in place by metal clasps attached to a few of the remaining teeth. The teeth on the partial denture are matched to the remaining teeth and the clasps can be designed to not be visible during normal function and when smiling.

Complete Dentures: Dentures are indicated for patients missing all of their natural teeth or planning to have their remaining teeth removed. For those patients planning to have their remaining teeth removed due to being unrestorable or severely affected by periodontal disease, it can be arranged to have their complete denture inserted on the same day that their teeth are removed. This is referred to as an immediate denture. With the advances in the materials used to fabricate complete dentures, it is possible to make the appearance of the dentures very natural looking.
